The EVS-prosjekt will take place in the suburb Gulset with 10.000 habitants in Skien municipality in Telemark county in the south-eastern part of Norway.The EVS-project can include 1-2 volunteers, primary one from Argentina and one from Spain in this first pilot-project.The project is organized by Gulset Nærmiljøsenter as volunteer centre with cooperation with different volunteer organisations, the mall and the local church.The main activities are After School for children, The Youth’s day, Open house for elderly, activity groups for children, immigrants, families etc. We also plan for food-courses, community-dinner etc with an intercultural dimension.The tasks for the volunteers will be as a volunteer leader among other volunteers in the activities, and to use his/her skills in sport, music, drama, communication or other ways of activities. We have a plan to establish a skating-club for children/youth, communities for young immigrants together with local youth etc. The volunteers can also be involved in the connected kimder-garden if it will fit into the programme. In the first weeks, the volunteers will test different activities to learn the language, and then decide what we will focus the rest of the project.We apply for volunteers from Argentina and Spain, who already is interested in our project. We have built those relations based on experience from cooperation with partners in Spain.As EVS-project we follow the frames of the EVS-charter, and will use this first project to build a strong partnership with the sending organisation.
