Intercultural dialogue and cooperation 4 peace
Date du début: 1 mai 2016, Date de fin: 31 oct. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project fits in the current international context: migration crisis, emergence of xenophobic groups and ultra right coalitions, increase of the critics towards multiculturalism, intensification of rejection towards migrants and other minorities etc. We are seeing how the values of the European Union, agreed on the 2009 Lisbon Treaty, are being threatened and questioned: social, political and economical freedom, solidarity among UE members, and security in the face of crime and terrorism. As a result of this, we consider necessary to start a project that fights against this, even in a small scale, and that opens a door to debate and dialogue. We consider that through the the development of the activity we present here we can show that exchange is possible and that young people can play a role in peacebuilding and in the construction of a more integrated, solidary and united society. The main goal of the activity is the exchange of points of view, opinions, and experiences about racism, terrorism, migration, multiculturalism, and religion, being this process enriched by the fact that all participants belong to different countries and cultures. Therefore, we present a youth exchange with Partner Countries, that counts with the collaboration of five different countries : Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan and Spain. Thus, the project will host 20 participants in total, plus 6 group leaders. Every association will sent four participants plus one group leader, except AEEGE-Oviedo that will have two groups leaders, being both the coordinators of the project. Participants ages will be between 18 and 30 years-old, except for the leaders to whom we’ll set no have age limit. The total duration of the activity will be one week, during which participants will have time to reflect and debate about different topics, such as religion, racism, terrorism, multiculturalism and violence. We will carry out different activities, dynamics, role-playing, simulation exercises etc. using the non-formal education methodology. The results of these debates and the learning of the participants will be made available to a wider public through the dissemination activities that the fve involved associations will carry out.Regarding the impact of the project, it should be noted that we expect to have positive results, both for the participants in an individual level and for the community, giving them in that way a unique learning and self-development experience (both for the host organization and the participants).
