INTERCAMBIOS EL HUECO CARIBE: Fomentando el emprendimiento social entre jóvenes vulnerables y organizaciones no gubernamentales de República Dominicana y Haití y transfiriendo buenas prácticas.

This project aims at increasing the capacities of vulnerable young people, their organizations, universities and NGOs, in order to develop social enterprises in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, as well as transferring best practices in the field of training of entrepreneurs which have been already developed in El Hueco – Cives Mundi (Spain). Thanks to this, we will help improve employability, entrepreneurial skills and rights of young men / women in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, so that we can contribute to the development of social economy in both countries.The project will be implemented together by CEDSOU (Haiti), CEDESO (Dominican Republic), and the NGO Cives Mundi (Spain) and will also count with the active participation of other civil bodies and institutions representing social entrepreneurship, such as the Vice-Ministry for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Dominican Republic, three universities ( Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC, Dominican Republic), y Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE, Dominican Republic) and Universidad Quisqueya, Haiti), and 40 youth organizations and NGOs.This action seeks to support and promote economic rights as human rights, promoting the right to equally work for men and women, and other human rights resulting of an important improvement in creating income and employment as well as the right in accessing to food and education.Among the activities planned to carry out this project we include: awareness and informative campaigns on social entrepreneurship; national seminars in both countries; conducting two competitions to identify potential social enterprises to implement; an incubation program for selected enterprises in order to start up entrepreneurs, trained on basics business tactics as well as creating their business plans; accompanying actions carried out by El Hueco Spain to transfer their good practices in the training of entrepreneurs and the start-up of an information platform for the training and promotion of social entrepreneurship.Within the 24 months of the execution of the project we aim at identifying and incubate around 30 social enterprises, of which at least 20 of them will complete its business plan.At the same time to this process, we also intend to inform and raise the awareness of 190 young people, interested in social entrepreneurship through a campaign that will include lectures, conferences and other spreading- knowledge activities.Last but not least our objective is to create an ecosystem (network) of holders of rights and obligations around social entrepreneurship that could set up the basis of a replicable model by the Dominican and Haitian governments in terms of promoting social entrepreneurship.
