The project, with its "Train the Trainer" curriculum, is aimed at managers of SMEs in the construction, wood and metalworking and motor engineering sectors. The focus is on 10 partners in BG, who can draw on the know-how and experience of the partners in DE and AT. The aim of the project is to make East European SMEs more competitive through greater quality assurance and ongoing further training.The project is in four stages: initially, the training and information needs of SMEs in BG will be established and, on the basis of this, "Train the Trainer" models and curricula developed with seminar materials, handouts and on-line versions. Trainers from D and AT will act as on-site tutors in BG. Initially, 30 trainers in BG will follow the Train the Trainer module, and then pass on their knowledge to a further 90 employees and trainees (disadvantaged youngsters). This stage will be evaluated. The final stage will be to design a transnational system for certification of training enterprises.
