Integrated remote tourism
Date du début: 30 avr. 2005, Date de fin: 29 avr. 2006 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project aims at creating integrated tourist packages that are valid year-round, in keeping with the attractive peculiarities of the Julian-Karst area. Specifically, the project focuses on cultural, landscape and sport routes in a well-defined geographical area. The idea is to promote - in an aggregate way - mountain, sea and intellectual tourism. To this end it takes advantage of the most advanced technological solutions, that consists in practice in georeferential maps, ortho-photos and satellite images of the reliefs, and graphical renditions of the reliefs to be stored in a dedicated imaging server. The project makes use of aggressive web-marketing techniques (a constant high positioning of the web portal, in all search engines, by using key words such as tourism, Karst, Trieste, etc.), project scaleability and the use of software allowing for the interfacing with existing databanks to use their data. The aim is therefore to provide potential tourists with the possibility to check the area on their computer as a tourist destination - thanks to the targeted map available and to satellite imaging - and to put together - again online - their tourist itinerary, planning autonomously transfers, accommodation, and selected visits.
