The objective of the project: to enhance economic and social development in the border region by fostering integrated tourism development with special regard to the UNESCO World heritage attractions as the basis for the establishment of new, common tourism attractions by creating a tourism destination management organisation, which can traffic tourists to the other side of the border. Achievements: The Hungary-Slovakia border region is rich in UNESCO World heritage attractions, which could serve as the basis for the establishment of new, common tourism attractions. The project partnership aimed to create structures and joint destination management organisations which can transport tourists on both sides of the border. Another key objective was to support the co-operation of tourist organizations through promotion, marketing and sales including the enhancement of the multilingual information flow related to various joint tourist products. Finally, a new database and an interactive website as well as a jointly developed information and reservation system were set up.
