At the Košana elementary school, the quality of teaching is to be improved with innovative approaches and ICT use in all subjects with emphasis on those in which achievements of the pupils are modest (i.e. English language). Thus it is important for the staff to get additional education and training, to open mind and to establish a network with organisations and teachers who work on similar fields at home and abroad. With regard to the written, the needs on the following have been perceived: new didactical methods’ use in English teaching, language knowledge in general; innovative methods’ use with other subjects and a motivation method to stimulate innovative thinking and creating; acquirement and improvement of knowledge to plan, implement and carry out the interactive innovation classroom at our school; daily follow-up of ICT progress, knowledge on e-security, programming, use of e-applications at lessons and wide use of ICT in different subjects’ teaching The main project activities are based on the expert training acquirement for the staff: - In United Kingdom, the English language subject with emphasis on new didactical methods of language teaching, sonority and intonation. Two English teachers will participate in the training. - In Sweden, the innovative methods use in teaching different school subjects. Among those interested in the school staff two will be picked who have the largest amount of experience and will be able to argue their needs and the method of knowledge transfer to the pupils and other teachers. - In Italy, the acquiring and improvement of planning and implementing interactive innovative classroom at Košana elementary school. Teachers who have large interest in actual implementation of such classroom will be chosen to participate. The degree of interest will be estimated by a questionnaire in which basic concept of the innovative classroom will have to be given. - In Belgium, the modernization and improvement of ICT knowledge. The teacher who in the last ten years teaches computer science at our school will take part in the mobility. She is the head of information technologies activities and in general someone who will turn best at the computer knowledge test. - In Netherlands, on the possibilities offered by ICT to increase quality of taught subjects and new knowledge acquirement. The selection of participants among staff will be done based on a questionnaire on the amount of ICT contents already used by the staff in teaching methods. By the activities named in the project the following goals will be reached: trained and qualified staff, improved quality and efficiency of education and training, improved education and training quality, improved foreign language knowledge among teachers and consecutively pupils, improved use of information and communication technology in education field, increase in creativity and innovativeness in all education and training fields, strengthened intercultural dialogue, lifelong learning and mobility, quality elementary education implementation, which provides equal chances for young people in the field of education, equality promotion (equal access to all acquired and given knowledge from the school pedagogic staff part to their colleges and all pupils, regardless of the standard and social status). The expected result on the applicant organisation and its employees will be improved knowledge and competence of mobility participants in the field of new didactical methods use in English language teaching, innovative approaches and teaching methods at all school subjects, update and increase in ICT knowledge and use of all acquired knowledge in the teaching process. Since the participants will share the acquired knowledge with the other pedagogic staff, the mobility effects will be multiplied through increased knowledge of the whole working collective. Thus knowledge will also be shared with the wider expert public.
