Vasil Levski High School has made up a strategy and a plan for the development of the educational process in its European aspect
in connection to the tasks set before European education by the Strategy of Lisbon 2020. Nowadays , in this dynamically changing world and globalization there is a need of new strategy and innovation methods of teaching. For that reason our school set the task to create a new innovative training environment to help the formation and a practical application of the basic students' competences. In connection to this several priority directions have been defined for the educational process at our school:
I. Studying the best practical solutions in the world concerning the quality of management of the educational process, effective programs for the formation of the 8 basic competences and their implication.
II. Setting foreign language teaching at a new level as the basis for development of other students' competences in the European aspect.
III. Optimal use of ICT technology in teaching (digital educational process).
IV. Rise of teachers' qualification in connection to the modern requirements of methodology and technology of teaching.
V. Development of students' activity in entrepreneurship, teachers and students working together over a number of economic and business programs, projects and initiatives, especially the ones at European level.
VI. The carry on the tradition of developing European projects, directed at the ecological education of students and the development of business and entrepreneur competences of the new generation.
VII. Studying the experience in teaching various subjects, especially foreign language teaching, information technology and entrepreneurship aiming at enriching teachers' competence and setting a higher level quality education.
To solve the problems identified a detailed plan has been developed for the qualification of teachers in the European aspect which includes the following activities:
1. The build up groups of teachers on the basis of their need of training as follows:
• Primary and secondary school teachers to learn about new technologies and their application when teaching a foreign language - 1 teacher;
• High school teachers to get to know the new technologies and their application teaching a foreign language - 2 teachers;
• High school teachers to be trained in the field of language methodology and culture - 1 teacher;
• High school teachers to get to know CLIL methodology - 2 teachers;
The selection of the participants in the project has been done on the basis of their experience, interests and needs.
As the foreign language teachers have got different levels of experience, it was necessary to make the following division:
-Qualification in the field of modern technology of teaching;
-Qualification in the field of methodology and skills of dealing with the social, cultural and ethnic diversity of students.
The following criteria for the choice of teachers have been applied:
-Correspondence between the language of the mobility with the language taught;
-Connection between the qualification course and the age of the target group; correspondence between the topic of the course and the needs of the school;
-Interconnection between the subject of education and the European plan for development of the school;
-The need of effective integration of IT skills, CLIL and foreign language teaching;
The need of effective qualification training abroad for the teachers is well known to them and for this reason the motivation to take part in is great enough.
The effect of the project is expected to reflect upon the competences of the participants and their future professional practice. That influence is closely linked to the European plan for development of the school.
The dissemination and popularization of the results from the project come as an inseparable part of its realization. Sharing the experience acquired is of great importance for all European projects, as their aim is to make good ideas very popular and in the greatest possible scale.
Reports of the best practical solutions and innovations will be presented to the Regional Department of Education in the town of Pazardzhik in order to receive the widest possible distribution. Special meeting will be held to share the experience, the ideas and the best European practices in the methodology of teaching a foreign language. Presentation lessons will be organised to demonstrate and apply in practice what has been learned during the course.
Articles about the training courses will be published in the local media, short reviews of them will be presented around the country where the course was held as part of its European dimensions.
