Our self-evaluation system in schools in Skagafjörður Municipality is based on the scottish self-evaluation framework, "How Good Is Our School 3". Scottish inspection and review in schools is based on this selfevaluation framework. We want to integrate this methodology in our municipality. New generation of HGIOS3 is upcoming, new version of HGIOS3 will be introduced in Sept. 2015 at The Scottish learning festival in Glasgow. They also have similar qualification framework for other fields of municipality services. Our objectives is to integrate the inspections framework as well as integrate the new version of HGIOS3 both in the school systems as well as in other fields of service. In Iceland, educational authorities place emphasis on inspections in schools according to laws and regulations. Our municipality is responding to this obligations. Our staff in our educational department in Skagafjörður Municipality have diverse educational background and have been participating in self evaluation for years. Our intention is that all our staff, about ten people, will learn and aquire skills and get trained to be capable of managing inspections and self evaluation. Also our intention is to use this methodology in other aspects in our municipality such as in sport and leisure department and the social service department. In the beginning of the project there will be an information meeting for participants in August 2015. Study vistit to Scotland in Sept. 2015. Translations of the framework starts in Oct. 2015. "Job Shadowing" in March 2016. Evaluation meeting in Scotland in January 2017. Inspection in schools starts in Sept. 2016 and follows in other areas. The selfevaluation and inspection framework are tools to make improvements in institutions, aiming to seek higher quality standards in the service provided. It also aimes at changing attitudes in the community. We believe that the project is in good coherence with the objectives of ET2020: -making lifelong learning and mobility a reality – progress is needed in the implementation of lifelong learning strategies, the development of national qualifications frameworks linked to the European Qualifications Framework and more flexible learning pathways. Mobility should be expanded and the European Quality Charter for Mobility should be applied; - improving the quality and efficiency of education and training – all citizens need to be able to acquire key competencies and all levels of education and training need to be made more attractive and efficient;
