PROJET
TERMINÉ
The project "Innovations in teaching English " has been written for a small school functioning in a rural environment, which sees its chances for development in dynamic and active teaching staff. Staff that is familiar with modern teaching methods, innovations in ICT, staff that sees the need for continuing training, is not afraid of challenges and is open to EU and its rich offer.
The teaching staff which constantly raises its qualifications is able to make lessons much more attractive and also teach students how to be conscious citizens of EU. The students thought in this way know then how to make acquaintances with other people in the world, how to take part in different cultures and have a respect to other nations.
The project was implemented in Primary School No. 3 in Pcim and continued for one year. The objectives of the project were: rise teaching staff’ qualifications in ICT, make lessons more attractive, meet with modern teaching methods and ICT and put them into practice. In the professional training ‘Effective use of ICT in education’ organized by Geros Onlus institution in Turkey, took a part one English teacher from our school. This is very ambitious person who does not afraid of any novelties and constantly rises qualifications in order to, as she says, “be up to date with the times”. We have conducted the following specific actions in the project:
1.Analyse the needs of teacherss, students and school’s strategic objectives, determine project objectives.
2.Registration of the school in ECAS base.
3.Select one member of the school staff to take part in mobility and preparation.
4.Contact with the organizer in Turkey and negotiate the training details.
5.Keep the necessary documentation.
6.Implement mobility.
7.Conferences and workshops for teachers and local community.
8.Implement in the school the new competences, knowledge and skills acquired by the teacher, for the benefit of the school, other staff members and students.
9.Carry out promotional activities before, during and after the project, information and promotion.
10.Regular evaluation activities, estimate impact and results of the project.
11.Compile the final report.
The results of the project were:non-material: competences, knowledge and experience acquired by the teacher and the other staff, new methodology-technologies,(lessons more attractive), growth of cultural awareness, strengthening cooperation between teachers, implementation of "good practices". 2.material results: educational platforms; Oxford, Matlandia, international certifications (including Europass Mobility), established contacts, school internal teacher training, digital learning tools: videos and recordings, multimedia presentations, photos, article, reports, etc).
The implementation of the project contributed to improving the quality of work in our school. Thanks to the skills acquired by the teacher, we put into teaching English, Maths and IT, educ. platforms through which ss work out and do homework. It is now a permanent part of the lessons. In addition, ICT is also used for extra-curricular activities, during which students record videos, plays, watch cultural films. A very important aspect of participation in the project was also the opportunity to establish some international contacts. Our English teacher still keeps in touch with the organizer of the training, colleagues from Romania, who proved to be indispensable advisors in many matters concerning the teaching, also in writing a new application in Erasmus+. Apart from this we also managed to communicate with the teacher from Malta, with whom we plan to implement the e-tweening project. Inspired by the actions of our international colleagues we are in the process of writing our own project 'The most beautiful places I have ever seen', which we intend to disseminate and implement on the e-tweening platform in the future. Although we did not find a partner to international students exchange, we do not stop in his searching, as evidenced by the newly written and applied project: 'In the European Educational Circle".
The implementation of the project contributed to improving the quality of work, not only school work. The results of our actions in the form of applied methods, of producing materials, reports, as well as the knowledge and experience acquired have a positive impact on the school, teachers, pupils, local community and all stakeholders. The inclusion of project results in daily work, sharing and disseminating them, is a long-term benefit of the project:pupils get a good start and ensure appropriate learning outcomes, schools and teachers are provided with a greater ability to act at international level in the field of education, and the other stakeholders are given an example, inspiration and raised awareness of the opportunities offered by programmes likeErasmus+ or POWER.
