Innovation Company Model - I-model

In an effort to increase the economic competitiveness of the European wood processing industry, the project partners aim to establish and promote an innovative management model for the industry. The main target group for the project are managers from the wood processing industry. The project's I-model (Innovation Model) will take managers through a series of activities that aim to establish innovative management procedures. Project activities will include adoption of a business approach to innovation; development of a code for innovation and introduction of a motivation and appraisal system. The project will analyse the existing management situation, and relevant examples of innovative management, in the wood processing industry, and will go on to develop its own innovative management model. The I-model will comprise traditional learning methods, such as lectures and practical examples/workshops, along with newer internet-based tools for learning and the exchange of information. Training activities will take place in the partner countries, and managers who have taken part in the training programme, based upon the I-model, will go on to be involved in the training of employees. Emphasis will be placed upon the sustainability of the I-model beyond the project lifetime. Herein, national and international networks of employees having been trained using the project's I-model, will operate as the project's key means of dissemination. Interaction with relevant research and development institutions, and representatives from other related sectors, will ensure the dissemination of project results. A final project conference will present the end results to a wide audience.
