Innovating Vocational Educational Training Applying Games Realities Methodology

VET Teachers even if they study computers the basic skills in using ICT are no longer enough. This project transfers a Game Methodology implemented and tested in several European projects ranging from Minerva, Grundtvig and FP5th & FP6 program projects. The project combines the technological possibilities of game environments and its methodology with knowledge of collaborative learning particularly with relation to implemented learning and knowledge using social network tools. The frenetic pace of change and the current economic uncertainties (unemployment rate in Europe, Eurostat figures), Lisbon Agenda on Digital Competences and the Recommendation 2006/962/EC of the European Parliament on the 8 key competences for lifelong learning, only add to the challenges, but with an ongoing commitment to seeking ‘what works’. IVETAGR practice is proactive in its aim of helping Teachers and Youth disabled acquire skills and knowledge to ensure their successful participation in society and future sustainability in a faster changing world. To train teachers in applying Game Methodology enabling them to train disabled youths in seeking and to support active learning, in content creation, developing concrete practical cases, pedagogy development, delivering New kind of Services to peers through the acquired skills.It develops a Universal Language Curriculum embedded in games with a work package that enables the creation of a specific curriculum which can be adapted to any language improving the teaching techniques based on game methodology and supported by tools from web 2.0 Motivacio Alapitvany (Budapest-Hungary) has been providing services to disabled people for 18 years focusing on independent living idea motion. They provide services, inc. job centre with psychological advice, and after the successful insertion follow up with the help of mentors. In 2008, Motivacio services were ranked first in this sector in Hungary by an EQUASS certification. Gödollo Library local partner add expertise due involvement in similar projects.Iberika (Berlin Germany) is a Language school specialised in linguistic didactic development, iberika is going to carry out the following tasks in this project: preparation of didactic material online based on different games and linguístic strategies which facilitate simple and effective access to the specific contents of the level A1 of the framework of reference, guaranteeing certificates at elementary level. Adaptation of the didactic contents to the intercultural European frameworkCiberespacio SL (Madrid-Spain). Developed through different projects funded under Minerva, Grundtvig, and Frame Programs the Game Methodology transfered in this project. Ciberespacio is incharge of workshops 2 and game developement .Workshops, toolkits, game-development based on teachers choice, language modules, up to 19 deliverables from 6 work packages are foreseen. Impact is to Vocational Skills considering the labour market needs.
