The purpose of the project is to give Estonian and Latvian youth expert skills on how to speak up on topics concerning human rights and to raise awareness about human rights in general.Sub-goal: to rise awareness on LGBT rights and reduce inequality among different minority groups in Estonia and LatviaMethods to be used: debating tournaments (US Parliament and Karl Popper styles), seminars and practical workshops done by experts on LGBT rights, training on public speaking and argumentation; exchanging experience between two countries.Examples of points to be discussed:a) Right to respect for private and family life (Proposition 8 in Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, Rome 4XI.1950)b) Respect for private and family life (Charter of fundamental rights of the European Union, 2000/C 364/01, Article 7)c) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelyhood in circumstances beyond his control.
