The International Alliance of Inhabitants (IAI) is an international network which fights for housing rights and a liveable city. IAI has members all around the world, including the 4 host organizations of this project: CONAM (Brazil), CENCA (Peru), UCISV (Mexico) and FEDEVI (Argentina). InCo (Italy), the coordinating organization of this project, together with ProAtlântico (Portugal), KERIC (Slovakia), DUHA (Czech Republic) and PAIDEIA (Spain) would like to send 10 volunteers (2 in each hosting country) to participate in a group long-term EVS project (12 months).The main themes are the housing rights and development cooperation. The work of the host organizations is mainly focused in the fight against forced evictions, the demand of social justice and basic assistance and the improvement of the quality of life of marginal communities. The duties of our volunteers will include mainly the actively collaboration with the staff of the host organizations arranging meetings with the local community, promoting seminars and discussion sessions, helping to produce informative material about the different topics involved in the work of the associations, searching for data about the local reality, providing ideas and suggestions to each initiative proposed, etc.With this 3rd partnership with IAI, we would like not only to give continuity the contribution promoted by the first 2 groups of volunteers, but specially to transform our volunteers in "Citizens of the World", promoting their awareness about evictions, social marginalization, the importance of active citizenship and young participation in politics and social movements, through an unforgivable experiencel We believe that this opportunity is very enriching for young people as well as to the future of a democratic and conscious European society.
