Increasing interest in EU studies at school: democracy, citizenship and world economy
Date du début: 1 sept. 2013,

The reason and objectives Europe is facing one of the most serious crisis that has ever taken place since the date of its constitution. Today schools represent an essential dimension where to inform, communicate with and train new generations in a headed European perspective. Nonetheless, even if this objective is largely shared, it clashes with national education systems the curricula of which do not include disciplines related to European studies. The University of Urbino, in particular with Professor Pierini, between the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013, in view of the National Selection for teachers of secondary schools of both 1st and 2nd level, the Italian Ministry of Education and the main publishing houses asked Professor Pierini to produce ad hoc didactic material for the preparation of teacher candidates. Professor wrote a monograph entitled "A historical-juridical profile of the European integration". Output and Products. - EU interdisciplinary research on teaching in schools, and other research between students attending a school to address European and non European address - The web site area; a bubblicaton to present such a research. - Eight teacher training course, Forum and debates Even by a conservative estimation, the project will have a significant impact in the entire regional scholastic community and elsewhere. Additionally, the project reunites in a single entity the highest authorities in all areas of education – academic, scientific, institutional. The extensive experience Professor Pierini has gained in his years as the Jean Monnet Chair demonstrates that these planned actions are, on one hand, necessary to fill in this empty space and, on the other hand, requested by the students and teachers. The Ministry of Education has recently created the section titled “Europe of Education” which participates enthusiastically in the project with Professor Gianna Prapotnich, Regional Representative of the Scientific committee.
