INCM 014 Berlin - Intermediate National Contact Meeting

The Transnational Youth Initiative INCM 014 Berlin has the goal to implement an 8- day conference for 105 international architecture students from 44 countries. The Congress will take place from October 25 to November 2, 2014 and is indispensable for the preservation and continuation of the EASA , a European-wide , self-organized network of architecture students. It provides the political framework of the network and invokes the young to commitment and initiative in European networking. The EASA Germany e.V. has, for the first time in the history of the network, set the aim, to take the chance of the opportunity of this meeting, to create a discussion on a acutely relevant and discipline-related topic of european importance. For the organization and execution of the project the main organizers founded a project partnership with young people from Bulgaria, Austria, Slovenia, Romania, Finland and Malta. The theme of the event - "Evolution - Cities in Transition " - presents not merely a historical context , but also the current topic of the power of society within a democracy - as a result of new instruments of communication. Due to the new media the people obtain more and more possibilities to influence processes by direct interaction . The young an aspiring architects and urban planners will become, by self-reflecting, aware of their professional role in an active and more and more participating society. They will be shown, by the example of the city of Berlin how participating processes can work. The project INCM 014 Berlin brings over one hundred young people from all over Europe together. This provides the possibilty to exchange and discuss different social and cultural backgrounds on a specific theme and to get an overall european view on the topic by that. In this way, the project will not only give participants a sense of responsibility in a European community, but it will in addition be a special training in the field of recent urban development as a modern labor market skills.
