Inclusion at work
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Inclusion is a concept whose importance is growing not only in education, but also in society. This involves the inclusion of previously excluded actors. In contrast to integration the inclusion requires that the social relations, that exclude people, should be overcome. In order to broaden their horizons in relation to this issue, the students are asked to analyze the operating conditions for inclusion during their internship and to develop their own concept about this: To what extent are courses, jobs, social rooms, etc. provided, for example for a wheelchair user ? What are the companies’ experiences in the practical operation with inclusion? Are there any biases? For this purpose 9 participants will be selected within the following two terms of school. Target group of the project are trainees of training occupations automobile merchants, office clerks, merchants for office communications, retail merchants, wholesale and export merchants, as well as industrial clerks. The trainees are all in the second year of dual training and have completed the intermediate examination by the time of the internship. During their training trainees should gain vocational skills. This integrates the development of professional, social and personal competence. An internship abroad can assist the trainees with regard to changing demands in the labor market and also in terms of the integration of Europe. They get to know a different work culture and have to communicate in a foreign language within their professional activity. Their flexibility and motivation is required. These skills have now become key skills. The rate of unemployment is very high in the Lower Rhine region and many trainees have major problems to find a job after finishing their exam at the Chamber of Commerce. However, the companies in the “Euregio” have a need for employees with international experience. Therefore an internship abroad offers great advantages in finding a job afterwards. In addition, the trainees can participate in the current debate by dealing with a social issue with their own experiences in a foreign culture.
