Date du début: 1 août 2016, Date de fin: 31 oct. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project takes place at Sheltered housing of Saint Michael. It is a facility which works with adult people with mental disorder and autism spectrum disorder. We aim to give these people an opportunity to live worthy, meaningful and independent life. Our values are to respect everyone, regardless their social status, religion, nationality, level of disorder and integration of people with disability into the society. We will host two volunteers from German organization ASF for a period of one year. Their task will be to organize different leisure-time, therapeutic or learning activities for our clients. Except for this, they can also work on projects that aim to raise awareness and integration of people with mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. The aim of this project is to give the young people an opportunity for non-formal learning, so they can gain lots of new abilities and competences. They can improve the communication in their mother language as well as communication in Czech and English; they can learn how to learn or how to use digital technologies. They can also improve their social competences and sense of initiative. We expect that the project will also affect others. It also aims to reduce the prejudices and discrimination of people with mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. Thanks to different activities that aim to promote the awareness about this group, the public will get proper picture on the life, needs and problems these people have. Encountering example of civic engagement can also increase the motivations of others to take part in similar projects and help others with fewer opportunities. They will get a chance to learn how to communicate with people from our target group and how to support them in an appropriate way. Therefore, the aims of the project are also to support tolerance, solidarity, dialogue between different groups and civic engagement.
