In Public, In Particular
Date du début: 1 oct. 2015, Date de fin: 31 déc. 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In Public, In Particular (IPIP) project uses participatory art methods to create situation specific art. Situation specific art examines the conditions of place and time from e.g. social, physical or economic standpoints. Art reacts to the findings and possibilities of the situation. The project focuses on four European streets, their actors, environments and identities. The main objectives of IPIP are 1) exploring and creating innovative ways of cooperation between artists, art schools, the local public and actors 2) improving practices and processes of public participation and audience development among artists and art students 3) encouraging international dialogue and cross-border cooperation of situation specific and participatory art professionals and students. The aims coincide very well with the objectives of the CE programme.IPIP’s main activities are 1) three workshop periods with different themes and objectives: working in public and making situation specific art collaboratively with the public, activating and attracting audiences and preparing works for presentation in street happenings 2) particular street happenings in four countries and 3) final symposium and street happening presenting the project’s overall results.IPIP works on the particular streets with the street actors in order to deepen relationships between the education institutes and their environment and to give the street actors new ways to participate in art and culture and benefit from it. Street actors with their customers and visitors are the project’s main target group. They will be invited to plan, execute and evaluate the artworks with artists and art students. As a result a series of reachable international and captivating art happenings in particular streets will be created. The IPIP consortium has significant expertise in international cooperation projects, participatory and situation specific art that will be efficiently exploited in the project.
