In Anffas we care

"In ANFFAS we care" is a long term European Voluntary service project, that will involve 1 long term unemployed young woman or man (age 18-30) from Lithuania for 12 month period. S/he will volunteer in Anffas Onlus di Pordenone, a Centre for people with special needs in Pordenone, North East of Italy. By participating in this project volunteer will develop awareness and understanding of the disabled people life and that diversity and inclusion are built upon the concept of mutual cohabitation, as collaboration of different people to achieve a greater added value. This project will be carried out through intergenerational communication linking the EVS volunteer, adults and the children with special needs. The EVS volunteer will have a chance to create and organize activities with the students in two high schools of Pordenone, sharing the meaning of volunteering and trying to show them the ways of being solidarity. In this way voluntary service will have a double function: educational and training. This project enables volunteers and as well the target group to develop inter-cultural competencies and other skills, such as self-confidence, leadership, teamwork and communication. It’s a true learning experience for all parties involved. During voluntary service activities, learning process of the volunteer, leading a volunteer in a learning process and changes, activities with target group, realizing initiatives non-formal learning methods will be used. It is expected that, during this European voluntary service project, life quality of target group will be improved and that a volunteer could provide more knowledge and information about possibilities of Erasmus+ program. In additional in a long perspective we expect that NGO „Actio Catholica Patria“ would act as a coordinating organization for a long-term European voluntary service projects in Lithuania, and would have a network of partners, for EST mobility development in European level for youngsters with disabilities.
