Impulsando CLIL y plurilingüismo en el María Blasco
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

IES Maria Blasco is a school located in Sant Vicent del Raspeig near Alicante. It is part of the Network of Multilingual Schools of Valencian Community and therefore it offers a program of multilingual education in Spanish, Valencian and English. Moreover, despite being a newly established school, we have already participated in three Comenius school partnerships and currently we have started an Erasmus + KA2 project on gender equality with schools in France, Poland and Turkey. These two points: the European dimension and the multilingual program give prestige to the school within the region, not just locally. This does not mean that we do not do an analysis focused on our needs and we have concluded that we need to capitalize on the interest and motivation of the teaching staff to expand the areas taught in English, following the criteria of quality and legislation of Valencian Community. It is therefore not enough with interest and motivation, they must be accompanied by training in both language competence and active teaching methods in English (CLIL).Therefore, improving language competence and methodological skills of teachers will help them get the official certification. This certificacion will allow us to expand the multilingual areas offered within the programme and consequently improve the quality of teaching foreign languages (English). All teachers are supposed to be able to take part in the project in particular: Department of English, teachers who already teach their subject in English and teachers who are already training and motivated but without certificate. By previous surveys, hopefully the interest for the project will increase. Our project proposes a training activity, with four flows:Flow 1 (Course 1): CLIL for Secondary Teachers - September 2016Flow 2 (Course 2): Developing Oral Fluency for Teachers of Adult Learners - July 2017Flow 3 (course 3): More English for Teachers - July 2017Flow 4 (Grade 4): CLIL for Secondary Teachers - July 2018These activities are directly focused on the two basic aspects of the project: increasing both quality in language competence and active methodology, CLIL.At the end of project, we expect to increase the number of certified teachers so that we can achieve the main objective: to offer the whole educational community a more flexible range of multilingual education (reflected in the Specific Programme Design), in addition to higher quality learning English language. Moreover, it is expected that the project will help to maintain and enhance the prestige of the school, since it acts on two points that we consider key to identify the school currently: the European dimension and teaching English.
