Improving the Communication between Labour Office Advisors and their Clients

The project, based in ten countries, will raise awareness of the importance of personal competences ('soft skills') for labour office advisors, counsellors and mediators as they deal with clients (job seekers and employers) and will support the matching of employer requirements with job seekers skills. The ultimate aim being to improve the job matching process offered by labour advisors, counsellors and mediators. Activities will include a detailed analysis of the current situation in each country with regard to labour office and clients models (with priority given to 'soft skills'), the identification of ‘best practice’ models for training labour office staff and the development of a modular Curriculum and support materials for advisors/counsellors/mediators. Developed materials will be developed in tandem by individual groups of project partners and will be piloted and adjusted on the basis of feedback from practitioners. End results will be made available as free, ready to use web-based materials. The project aims to put project results into action at a local level, through the direct delivery of training. Additional conferences / seminars will take place in each participating country in order to present the end project results to key actors and stakeholders.
