The educative project of our school Notre Dame du Roc is linked to 3 axes : opening, personalization and adaptation. This is a wish of opening on the economical world, international and other cultures, to apply different pedagogical methods.
In septembre 2014, our vocational school has launched a european section for pupils in Reception, Sales and Accounting Administration.
We are two teachers certificated in NLD (Non Linguistic Disciplin). We are teaching in a vocational school, in the services sector and we are both in charge of European Section.
We wanted to improve our linguistic abilities to be more professional and close to reality.
Our pedagogy is based on real and professional contexts and many role plays.
During our mobility, we have attended lessons based on our linguistic level. First, we did level tests. We have attended 15 days of lessons at the rate of 30 hours per week. In addition, we had the possibility to attend more lessons in writing, listening comprehension and also to improve our pronunciation.
During our free time, we could immerse in the english culture, we have visited London and especially many museums.
We were hosted in a family. So, we were totally immersed in the English language.
When we came back, we have built some pedagogical lessons, in relation to a franco-british local Association, whose members could speak with your pupils during some lessons.
Besides, we have a cultural approach of Great Britain, because of our partnership with 2 partners : a "fish and chips" food truck and an English shop. With them, we organize, each year, a special day for our pupils, so that they can be in the English Culture for one day.
We would like to improve our teaching in European Section, make it last, and be closer to the professional reality.
When it's possible, we talk about our mobility with our colleagues, and other high schools, to give boost to teachers mobilities.
