Due to the increasing globalisation and internationalisation of the working environment it has become more and more important in recent years to prepare not only trainees, but also teachers for these challenges. Confident communication with foreign partners requires good knowledge in the world language English on the one hand and on the other hand also a high degree of intercultural competence. Our project contributes to support our staff especially in the above mentioned aspects which also corresponds to our school internal quality management understanding (“Schulinternes Qualitätsverständnis – SQV”). After having offered a language course for industrial clerk, bank clerk and office administration clerk trainees at the European College of Business and Management (ECBM) in London for the past years we have now taken the decision to offer a further education course especially for our teachers. After receiving an email from LFEE Europe, this further education course was introduced in a meeting of alle the Englisch teachers of our school. After this meeting, three teachers of the English language took the decision to apply for this course. The participants attend lessons dealing with topics which are related to their English lessons. The lessons are held by specially trained and experienced teachers from LFEE Europe. In addition to the daily lessons, the participants take part in group excursions in and around Edinburgh. Another major aim of the project is to enlarge the intercultural, social and individual skills of our teachers. They enter a new field with unknown cultural and social requirements, moreover they learn to communicate and to cooperate with others. The project in focuses on the strategy of internationalisation and especially concentrates on an increase of mobility of the teachers as well as the internationalisation of the “Staatlisches Kaufmännisches Berufsbildungszentrum Jakob Küner Memmingen”.
