This application is handed in in order to cover the expenses of an English Immersion Course in Scotland. The program is coordinated by LFEE Europe that has been an international course provider since 2002. Their partnership with Confluence Scotland has produced a successful team of experienced and fully qualified native speaker teachers, committed to promoting British culture and the English language in Europe. For the past twelve years their expertise in delivering in-service Training Courses for teachers has been recognized by all European National Agencies.
The venue of the one-week course is Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. The course includes information on the different UK education system and also on Scotland's culture and history. The main aims of the course are to update participants' competence and discursive skills in English, to enhance methodological expertise in the teaching of English, to update vocabulary, consolidate and gain new ideas and materials for use in the classroom, to use internet and other ICT resources in class, to use published, authentic and audio visual material in class, to develop cultural awareness and understanding of contemporary Britain and to share experience and ideas with colleagues from other European regions.
The participant of the program is the English teacher of Bocskai Istvan Reformed Primary School in Papkeszi, who has taken part in several teacher training courses and conferences in Hungary in the recent years. She has been teaching English language for young learners for more than ten years and has been a full-time member of the school staff for 6 years. Now her aim is to develop her English language command and get familiar with the new waves and trends in English teaching in an authentic atmosphere in order to be able to develop her students' knowledge and inner motivation to a higher level and to share the new methods with her colleagues at school and with the audience of IATEFL-Hungary conference in October 2014. The program is also the starting point of an eTwinning tale writing project that will be accomplished with partner schools in the European Union.
At the end of the course teachers will get a certificate and will also have the opportunity to join a Europe/UK wide network of all participants.
