According to data from November 2015 around 6000 refugee students are studying in our city. Important part of them are continuing their education in public education centers and temporary learning centers. In primary schools 249 and in secondary schools 213 refugee students are trained with our other students. With the permanence of refugees has been increasing, the number of refugee students increases even faster every year. Therefore, adaptation of refugee students to the education process is a major problem. Our Project aims to keep a training course in Sweden for our 24 primary and 24 secondary school teachers from Mersin Mezitli district about the adaptation to the education process of refugee students. The project objectives are:- To give an education to our participant teachers and after dissemination activities to our non-participant teachers in our city about the psychosocial needs of refugees, to get to know the students they are addressed and as a result to improve the quality of education for refugees- To reduce the risk of social exclusion of refugee students in class - to prevent deterioration that may occur as a source of refugee students in the general education environment of class- To meet the trainer need for educations designed as for all teachers in our district (It is freseen some of the participants will take part in trainings after they return that will be given to other teachers about the topic. )- To increase the general awareness in the educational community about the rights of refugees- To transfer the experience on the refugee problem from Sweden to Turkey and to develop an advise document and to put into service it for decision makers at national level- To improve foreign language skills of the participants.- to break prejudices of participants about European Union and other cultures, and to increase cultural awareness.Participants will have improve themselves after their training abroad on the adaptation of refugees to education. As a result of attendance this course, our participants will have information on topics such as the rights of refugees and asylum seekers from national and international agreements and history of the refugee problem. This information will enable our participants to cope more effectively against xenophobia especially against refugees. The project aims not only increase the proficiency of the participants but also increase knowledge and awareness of all primary and secondary school teachers in our district and even in our province with the dissemination activities. The dissemination activities are listed below:- Our participants will prepare a 3-hour informative presentation in cooperation with human rights organizations and their experts about their knowledge and experience that obtained from training and it is foreseen to be implemented of this presentation in all educational institutions of our district.- It is foreseen to be prepared a project-output dissemination booklet and to be distributed to the educational institutions in city, national education directorates, educational syndicates and other organizations and institutions that are relevant.- 6 press release will be published during the project by pressing on the local and national media.- 1000 project brochure will be printed and will be distributed- 500 project presentation poster will be printed and will be distributed to our district school.- Groups will be found on social media about the topic.- A website will be built for enable different stakeholders to get benefit from project outputs
