Nowadays, the usage of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching atmosphere and its diversifying and changing the learning resources has changed both the roles of the teachers in learning-teaching process and the fulfillment methods of their professional development activities. Therefore, the teachers need professional development to integrate ICT into the learning-teaching process. In addition, ICT has also been used as a tool for the fulfilment of the activities that are relevant to supply teachers for their needs of professional development.
The usage of ICT in foreign language teaching field has increased more and more, too. Thanks to every kind of information and communication tools, foreign language teaching can be done more effectively and the learners are able to learn a foreign language in a more quickly and practical way. Because, the more information and communication tools appeal to many sense organs in the learning process, the more permanent the learning becomes.
As an organization, we aim to make the teaching of English language in our school more qualified. So, it is necessary for the English language teachers working in our school to attend in some educational courses about the usage of ICT in English language teaching. The aim of our project is to provide these English language teachers working in our school to use ICT in learning-teaching atmosphere effectively thanks to these educational courses.
As an organization, we plan to send English language teachers in our school to 3 different educational courses in abroad which are about the usage of ICT in English language teaching. With our project which is called “ADVANCED ENGLISH WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY”, the English language teachers in our school will be able to attend in these educational courses. In these courses, our teachers will take various instructional modules about the usage of ICT in English language teaching. These modules are going to be instructed by the qualified educators in the organizations which will organize these courses. The courses, in which our participants will attend, will show their positive effects on our participants, other staff in our school, our students and the environment around our school.
After our project is completed, we will establish a language laboratory in our school providing that we can find appropriate financial resources. Thanks to this language laboratory, both our teachers will be able to make a more-qualified foreign language teaching and the foreign language learning of our students will be more permanent.This project will be our source of inspiration for European Union Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships project which we plan to run for our school in the future. Moreover, we will put in some advertisements in the local press in order to make our project be heard and spread out. We will also make some presentations in the informative meetings about European Union projects in our city in order to challenge the staff working in other schools to carry out such projects, too.
