IESTEK- International Educational System for Transferring Entrepreneurial Knowledge – LdV TOI project 2010-2012 (IESTEK)

The concept is to: 1) Transfer existing national knowledge about entrepreneurship training in vocational institutes in each participating country to the international level 2) Develop international educational content for entrepreneur skills for VET education and 3) Create a study module for professional training of teachers.The aim is for teachers to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and create a more industry-specific approach in their pedagogical methods. In addition, the goal is to formulate and test international standards for teaching entrepreneurship skills to students, and to develop a professional mentoring system for students to assist with their integration into the work force. The plan involves business organisations by informing them of the results.In nearly every profession, there is an increasing demand for workers who understand entrepreneurial concepts. This knowledge can greatly enhance the marketability of an employee’s skills, and may help him/her advance within the global economic sector. To ensure that educational units are integrating entrepreneurial training. According to the guidelines defined by the EU Copenhagen Process, it is obligatory to increase international cooperation among VET institutes in order to gain valorisation and international standardisation. At the same time, the goal is to preserve certain elements of vocational training methods and arts heritage specific to each culture. Students should be able to smoothly integrate into the international VET studies and work life. Development of this entrepreneurship project on an international level allows for the exploration of various approaches from different VET organisations involved in the project. This model will later be adapted on a wider, international scale.An EU Action Plan for EntrepreneurshipThe EU community action plan proposes a series of measures to promote entrepreneurship in order to help business owners fully realize their ambitions and provide them with an environment conducive to business development. In order to inform as many people as possible about entrepreneurship, the Commission intends to foster an entrepreneurial mind set among young people through educational activities (such as providing role models) in schools. The Commission calls upon the Member States to integrate entrepreneurship education into all school curricula, create awareness campaigns, offer training material, and organise training modules for teachers. In addition, the Commission involves entrepreneurs in teaching programs. Entrepreneurial growth rarely happens by chance: entrepreneurs primarily seek inspiration from successful role models. Considering the repercussions of the aging population, and the fact that the entrepreneurial target age group (25-34 years)
