IES Carmen de Burgos abre sus puertas a Europa: compartiendo experiencias
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The " IES Carmen de Burgos opens its doors to Europe: sharing experiences " is a mobility staff project to conduct an observation period of two weeks at a school in the Czech Republic. The IES Carmen de Burgos is a secondary education centre located in Huércal de Almeria which is constantly growing and counts on the current year with 635 students and 53 teachers. Our centre is part of the ICT, Coeducation and Environmental Protection project. This mobility project aims to improve our needs, which are common to most Andalusian secondary centres. These needs respond to the school climate and students’ marks improvement, especially in subjects such as maths, mother tongue and foreign language (English)). The partner organization has been selected, on the one hand, by having our common goals: ICT incorporation into everyday classroom practices and interest in proper English learning. On the other hand, by having performed well in math and language on state tests over the last few years and enjoy a good coexistence climate in the centre. To carry out observation at the partner organization, we have chosen two math teachers with good skills in the ICT use and incorporation into the classroom who have been trained in conflict resolution. Moreover, both teachers are quite concerned about the lack of motivation and interest of secondary school students to learn the contents provided by the school. Our main project activity is exchanging experiences with other teachers with similar concerns, through direct observation into the partner organization classrooms and hosting partner organization teachers so that they can observe our centre operation. Our project has focused on job shadowing, from the consideration that the research done by teachers has an important role, both for their professional development as for the knowledge generation from real-world scenarios, which can be relevant to other teachers. The exchange of experiences and methodologies employed by both organizations will enrich our teaching-learning process and will have an impact on the improvement of students’ basic skills and motivation and school climate as well as on the introduction of new working methods. These are the expected results. These benefits will not only impact on our centre, in the short term, but we also intend to expand the dissemination range to other schools with same needs, in medium-long term.
