The project of Jean Monnet Module “European Identity through the European Union policy (linguistic, business and immigration policy) - IDEU” aims at the public that do not automatically come into contact with European studies through their curriculum in opposition to their professional activity (future language teachers and translators, management personnel of regional enterprises). The long-term objectives are promoting excellence in teaching and research in EU studies; creation of a tailor made course based on the notion of learning outcomes which enhances the employability and improves career prospects for young graduates by including or reinforcing a European dimension in their studies; development of critical thinking, active citizenship, tolerance and respect for the values of different cultures, development of skills of working in intercultural environment.Teaching activities are presented as project-based learning on pertinent subjects in the framework of 11 modules. The exploitation of results will be assured via simulation games, conferences, educational visits to multicultural enterprises and round tables. The project’s short term results include creating teaching materials, on-line informational resources, publication of papers in academic and regional press.The long-term impact of the project is seen in the increased interest in identity and related subjects, enhanced employability of the graduates by including a European dimension in their studies, more efficient dialogue between the academic world, the policy-makers, the business representatives and the students; development of joint programmes on European studies with partner European universities, promotion of innovation in teaching and research.
