Identidad Europea y Método Comunicativo en ESL.

Our project, entitled "European Identity and Communicative Approach in ESL", is thought for our school, a state school of Secondary and Post-Compulsory Education in Aguilar de la Frontera, a town in the province of Cordoba with 14.000 inhabitants, mainly devoted to agricultural activities and with a high unemployment rate. Two participants will be selected for the project taking different selection criteria into account: the subject they teach (English), their availabilty, their openness to introduce changes in their teaching practice, their potential future role in the programme's dissemination, their interest in their continuous learning and their need for some kind of advice or reference regarding some methodological aspects. The activity will consist of a fourteen-day course in the United Kingdom during the next academic course 2014/15, which we hope will give answer, because of its contents, to our school's needs: openness or internationalization of every member of our educational community, as well as some methodological advice and an improvement of the linguistic competence from the part of the partipants involved. After the stay, some activities will be carried out in order to disseminate the project's results, which will be directed to every member of our community, including informative sessions, the development of a web blog devoted to our school's Plan of Internationalization and departmental and interdepartmental meetings, as well as meetings with other schools in our educational area. It is expected then a positive impact on every member of our community in terms of openness, continuous and methodological learning from the part of the teachers involved, as well as their linguistic compentence and an increase in our students' motivation for learning to communicate in such an international language as it is English.
