Title of the project: ICT-ALL INCLUSIVE Context/Background of project: The SWOT analysis of our internal environment, included in the Institutional Development Plan, revealed the following: the number of children with special educational needs (SEN) who enroll at our school has been increasing, our teachers aren’t well-prepared, from a methodological point of view, to work with children with SEN, there is a sense of conservatism among teachers regarding the use of modern methods to activate and motivate students, there is an insufficient integration of ICT in teaching and a lack of academic progress for students with CES. Thus our school has identified the following development needs: the management structure of our institutions should stimulate creativity and innovation in order to replace some traditionalist approaches, ought to implement successful European models and should facilitate the participation of teachers in European training activities which will target the work with pupils with SEN and the use of ICT in lessons. Teachers need opportunities to continue their education and models of good practice regarding the work with students with SEN in order to overcome the barriers of traditional teaching and apply interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary approaches in which to use ICT. Under the circumstances the objectives of our project are:Goal: To develop the skills of 24 teachers to work with children with SEN and / or ICT by August 31, 2018 Specific objectives: To improve the techniques of 12 teachers to work with children with SEN until August 31, 2018, for an easy integration of these children in the mainstream education; to improve the ICT skills for a total of 12 teachers until August 31, 2018; to create an optional subject for students with SEN which will target the training of ICT skills, and to introduce it in the school curriculum, beginning with school year 2018-2019.24 teachers from our school will attend training courses. The participants’ profiles are: the 24 people that will receive grants are permanent teachers in our school or are enrolled in school with the prospect of at least 2 years. Participants also have deficiencies in terms of methods of working with pupils with SEN and have had problems with the integration of these pupils in the mainstream schools and / or have limited abilities to use ICT tools in teaching.The training activities will be 5 structured courses on the following topics: the education of students with special needs and learning strategies based on ICT.Expected results. The participants at the courses will acquire: skills for the development of inclusive strategies, skills for implementing inclusive policies;skills to create an inclusive environment in the classroom and in school; skills to create blogs, websites, podcasting, skills to create digital classes using web 2.0; abilities to implement ICT technology in our institution, skills to understand how the child or adolescent learns in the digital generation; diversity management competence, language skillsImpact on participants in training: Until September 2018 the percentage of teachers who will be competent working with students with special needs will increase by 20% and the percentage of teachers who will have digital competence will increase by 20%; following the acquisition of skills for working with students with SEN, course participants will implement the principles of inclusive policies to class and the number of lessons in which these principles will be applied will increase by 30% in the period 2017-2020; after acquiring digital skills, course participants will implement ICT technology in our school and the number of lessons in which they will use digital tools in teaching (blogs, websites, podcasting, web 2.0, internet) will increase by 30% in the period 2017-2020;The impact on students: following the process of integration of pupils with SEN in mainstream schools, these students will get better school results by 5% in school year 2017-2018 compared to the 2016-2017 school year, the risk for dropout for students with SEN will decrease by 20%;The impact on the institution: diversification of the institution by creating an optional subject for pupils with SEN and training that addresses digital literacy, and its use in the school curriculum, beginning with the 2018-2019 school year;Long term benefits: creating an optional subject for students with SEN which will target the training of ICT skills, and introducing it in the school curriculum, beginning with school year 2018-2019.
