The Mediterranean of the Cultures was a training course happening at Samos, Greece, from 30 March to 07 April 2015. The main topics were traditional dances, outdoor activities including exercises, healthy nutrition, inner psychosomatic equilibrium and active attitude. There were 38 young people from 11 different countries of the Erasmus+ Program area (Hellas, Portugal, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Poland, Spain, Czech Rep., Turkey, Ukraine). The main objectives were: to raise awareness about the importance of the traditions and especially of the popular dances, to provide tools and methods for self development and empowerment to an active life; promote outdoor activities and the importance for a healthy life, share knowledge about the European identity through traditional national and European activities, promote mobility among youngsters and an active role in their lives and in society through the Cultural Heritage. The activities were based in active and non-formal methods: team building, discussion sessions, work and reflection groups, games, traditional dances, inter-cultural evenings, visit of the local community, outdoor activities, physical exercises with personal development intent. The program had also a major objective, to build relations of friendship between the young people involved, which were transformed into relations of friendship and trust. The planned activities have promoted European awareness and participation of young people to have an active role in the society. Certainly, this program has brought new realities in local communities for inter-cultural encounters, trying to attract particularly the youth organizations. We believe that this work can be continued with greater responsibility and commitment of the participants and the local communities in the conservation, protection and enhancement of the Cultural Heritage of the Mediterranean. Finally, ending the training, there were activities that allow the continuation of this multicultural process because of the actions of the participants at local level, helping other people to understand that 11 countries have worked together for the success of a program.
