The idea to arrange an international dancing flashmob and remind to young people and broad public, that they shouldn't forget their dreams and try to find a way how to make them true, was established in our organisation few years ago. Over a long period we follow, that young people in our surroundings are resigned - they go to school they don't like, if you ask them what they really want to the in their future life, they usually reply: I don't know. They can very hardly find a motivation for some activities and choose the easiest way for solving their problems - to become a part of a crowd and transfer their responsibility to people around them. We called our project "I have a dream", and we wanted to help young people discover their life dreams and portray them into the common dancing performance. The project purpose was to organise a Youth Exchange for young people at the age 16 to 25, who like dncing, and create a space for intercultural sharing with flashmob as a main outcome.
The main goal of the project was to help young people discover their life dreams, goals and priorities and create a common international dancing flashmob to remind to young people in our community, that is important to follow their dreams.
There were 7 participating countries: Czech Republic, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgary, Hungary, and Greece - 4 participants per each country and a group leader. There were also young people with fewer opportunities involved in this project.
During the exchange young participants realised their dreams and priorities and compared them to other participants from participating countries. They set up a plan of small steps that can lead them to fullfill their dreams as soon as they come back to their countries. They composed their dreams to common dancing flashmob, that was held in the biggest shopping centre Karolina in Ostrava. Through this flashmob we wanted to remind young people from local community that it is important to have dreams and follow them. At the end of the project young participants has found that dance is not only fun but also an effective way for expressing the ideas, dreams and wishes.
During the project young people also raised their awarness about cultures of participating countries and learnt their typical dances, which led them to better understanding each other and eliminating prejudices.
Flashmob video became a viral and approached young people not only from our communities, but also young people who were not a part of this project.
