Date du début: 15 oct. 2015, Date de fin: 14 oct. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The European seminars offer the educator an opportunity to improve his/her teaching methods, to acquire skills in handling the foreign language and to deepen in the culture of other countries, so that his teaching becomes innovative. The students -who are the ultimate recipients- get acquainted with the idea of being citizens of a united Europe coming into contact with its culture and civilization. As a result, they broaden their horizons and the lesson acquires new dimensions as they develop their critical mind. Equally important is considered the fact that the contact with other European teachers contributes to the extroversion of our school and helps future school exchanges. The school taking advantage of the knowledge the teachers have obtained, can create a communication network with teachers of other countries with a view to cooperating with them in future Erasmus projects, exchanging visits as well as planning a lesson in English and Drama through various activities. The use of new teaching methods aims to help students realize that language and drama are pedagogical tools that lead us to self-knowledge. Also, the introduction of literary texts, creative writing, improvisation and films in the teaching of the foreign language and drama give the students initiatives, increase their confidence and improve their writing and oral skills and finally their interest. The students learn to cooperate harmoniously for the completion of various tasks in an environment of respect and mutual support. The teachers that we recommend for participation in the seminars were selected on the basis of the qualifications they have and the enthusiasm they show in a continuous effort to improve their knowledge and their teaching skills. They have taken part in a number of seminars on a national and European level. They have rich professional experience in mobility programs and in the transmission of new innovative methods of teaching. They are always willing to share their experiences with their colleagues and students. The courses that have been chosen relate to the teaching of English -as a foreign language- and Drama through culture in secondary education. Visits to museums, theatrical venues, secondary schools and cultural organizations are included in the course program. Interviews aiming in the creation of targeted issue projects and workshops including literary texts, poetry, creative writing, drama and cinema are expected to take place during the course. The seminars aim to meet the needs of teachers to integrate cultural recourses in their teaching in class and to introduce new ideas relating to innovative methods of teaching. We believe that participation in the European training programs will significantly benefit the performance of our candidates in their work. They will have the chance to learn idioms and everyday expressions perfecting in this way their language skills. Also, coming into contact with teachers form other European countries they will develop their communicative ability. We expect that the main impact of this plan will benefit first and foremost the main target-group which is the student. By using new methodology, teaching will focus on the students, thus giving a new aim in class, motivating the students and resulting in a more pleasant and creative lesson. Teachers will help students to enhance their socialization by offering them incentives to cooperate in the creation of projects. In this manner, they will promote a spirit of companionship, cooperation respect and solidarity. We therefore expect the best possible learning outcomes of the class by combining the existing knowledge with the newly acquired one so that in the long run we can reap the rewards of our teaching practices. Finally, we hope that the impact of their participation in the Erasmus program will be particularly positive for our institution because through briefing the other teachers of our school will be able to expand their knowledge and experiences and come to conclusions about possible educational improvements.
