Within the project, the partners prepare and maintain an on-line bilingual legal database covering Hungarian and Romanian commercial and consumer law. The database provides access to essential legal information that can be used in informed business and consumer decision-making. The database compiles the relevant legal material into functional categories enabling guided access to the legal background of problems faced in cross-border cooperation and transactions. Thus, the activity of businesses and consumers will be based on informed decision-making having assessed the legal risks and implications of their actions. Businesses and consumers will have a greater understanding of laws relating to commercial activity in the other State. They will realize the benefits of cross-border commercial transactions and cross-border business cooperation. The direct beneficiaries of the database are businesses, especially small and medium sized enterprises, entrepreneurs and consumers wishing to establish cross-border cooperation and to benefit from cross-border commerce in the Hungarian-Romanian border region. Operators in the field of legal services are likely to benefit directly from the database in supporting businesses and consumers in cross-border activities. Indirect beneficiaries include students of law, commerce and economics, legislators, policy makers, interest groups, journalists, researchers.As an effect of the project the amplitude, quality and duration of cross-border business cooperation increases.
