The background of idea of the project “Hug for future” was many requests from Rezekne municipality`s schools and preschools for help with work with parents and social risk families. There was no system of support for parents of social risk families. The main reason was need for high qualified specialists for adult educating and limited finance resources. The aim of the project is: to prepare team of adult educators and to develop program and support system for low skilled parents from social risk family. Project objectives: • Organize 4 mobilities and raise skills of 4 adult educators, who will learn experience of other EU countries, enhance professional competences in work with parents, acquire skills to work with new methods • To create 3 learning programs for parents and 3 video lectures which are easily available and provide actual information about new skills • To develop parent support system (including training for mentors and change experience) that will promote cooperation in different levels and solving of conflict situations • Organize 8 seminars and 3 events to improve availability of parents education and circulation of information in accordance with actual and changing needs • To distribute information about possibilities and actualities of adult education by Information portal of Rezekne Municipality (www.rezeknesnovads.lv) and to create informative section for parents. • To create calendar for families “Calendar of good ideas for families” 2016 – 2017, printed 2000 copies. At the beginning of the project there was 4 participants selected by questions forms and interviews. With all participants there is agreement about their participation in the project and future cooperation 3 years after end of the project. In the project there was 4 partners with whom Rezekne Municipality signed agreement about cooperation. During the project period each participant went for mobility to one of project partner organizations for training courses: “Support for social risk families” (Malta), “Different methods of cooperation with parents: work with social risk families about responsible parenting, conflict solving and non-violent parenting” (Estonia), “Modern world challenges for parents” (UK), “Healthy lifestyle and family” (Italia). Partner organizations from three countries provided job shadowing about work with different groups of parents. Knowledge and practical skills gained during the project was used to led 15 seminars and events which was organized and led by project team. Participants adapted knowledge from partner countries to local level and used to work with parents and stakeholders, created materials for adult educators (ideas of trainings, description of activities, video, examples of good practise, etc.) and 3 training programs for parents. During the project participants began to develop parents support groups at local centres of development of Rezekne municipality. At autumn 2016 adult educators will lead support groups and give help to parents of solving conflict situations, crises situations in families. Project team made 3 video lectures for parents which are published in Information portal of Rezekne municipality (www.rezeknesnovads.lv). All families with children from Rezekne municipality got calendar 2016 -2017 “Calendar of good ideas for families”. This calendar is created by adult educators group and it includes advises of appropriate children activities for each month and positive parenting. Project adult educators participated to English classes and developed and strengthening their language skills during the mobilities. Participants raised their personal capacity for international cooperation and EU funding. The project “Hug for future “is sustainable investment in the level of Rezekne municipality, Latvia and Europe. Educated parents can give much more positive experience to their children and in future there will be more responsible new families in modern multicultural European environment.
