How we coach ?

This initiative is an 8 days youth worker training focused on improving hosting and coordinating of the long term EVS project by introducing coaching methodology, researching, proposing and finding ways it could be adapted in EVS project.Project creates a space where organizations experienced in EVS are meeting in order to explore ways they could improve and widen their horizons. This training is based on intersectoral cooperation between the Coordinators/ Trainers working in EVS projects (NGO environment) and Certified Coaches (working NGO’s as well as with businesses and private clients).The practice of coaching techniques fit into the methods of non-formal education (such as Learning by experience, discussions, workshops, work in pairs and in small groups (national and international). Coaching techniques introduced on the Training such as “Person Centered” approach, Future Pacing, Growth model of coaching and methods coming from “ Co-Active Coaching” are based on practice of imagination, mindfulness, active listening, cooperation, constructing open-ended questions, creating metaphors, developing skills needed to create trust based environment and support volunteer identifying problems and generating his/her own solutions.During the training participants will have the opportunity to assist experience facilitator in running of open space meetings, see the ways they could integrate this method in their work. Open space as well as the basics of Sociocracy introduced on this training will secure the equal and active participation by all the parties involved during the training.The group will be deciding on the most effective way to disseminate project results and thinking of a further ways to cooperate in this area. The participants will have time and space to choose the tools coming from the coaching methodology that every partner would like to practice in their EVS environment. We will develop ways participants can let each other know about the outcomes of their practice. After the mobility the results of the project In the first instance will affect the partner organizations, their volunteers and their closest surrounding. We will also plan to develop the effects that can be valuable to any NGO in Working with Long term voluntary projects based on the tools introduced in the project and generated users experienced.
