The project “How to turn ARtistic strengths into ENtrepreneurial strengths "AR-EN"” is a Youth Exchange which is financed by the European Comission through Erasmus+ programme (2014-2020), Key Action 1 under youth mobility. The project will last between 01/08/2016 until 31/12/2016, while the YE itself will take place in Nicosia between 16/9/2016 to 25/9/2016 with 28 participants and additionally 7 young leaders, from 7 countries. This YE has as main objectives to provide artistic young in need with a better understanding of the key aspects in setting up and running a viable small enterprise. Furthermore this YE is focusing in helping artistic youth in need:- to understand their weaknesses and where they can develop further-the common characteristics among artistic youth and the common opportunities and challenges they normally face-the usefulness of NFE methods-to consolidate their knowledge about the world of Erasmus+, Youth-Pass and the 8 competencies- to grow even more culturally aware and to form friendships,/ network for future partnerships- to appreciate learning from people who have different values, skills and behaviors than we have.Together with our partners we will create a suitable learning environment and use mostly non-formal methods of education. The program is taking place in Nicosia, in within walking distance of the old city, the only divided capital city in the world at the moment and in itself a good case study for any youth with artistic inclination as its past present and future can not but provide a lot of food for thought and inspiration for artistically minded people.The YE timetable, is designed to have the first two days mostly on team building activities and getting to know each other and from the third day until the eighth day, we focus on artistic youth in need and the challenges and opportunities for entering the entrepreneurial world. In the final days the participants will understand better E+ via NFE methods, demonstrate their team building method creations, etc. Doing so the participants will also gain skills in working with people from different backgrounds, improve their English speaking skills and their non-verbal skills as there will be a language barrier on many occations. Furthering their self esteem participants will help their follow-up progress (develop an action plan, build a bigger network etc) and disseminate easier and better Erasmus+’ project activities. This youth exchange we expect to impact the participants, their circle of friends back in their community, their NGOs, the communities they live in and help long term in closing the gap between artistic people and the business world.
