How to serve it cold 2.0

A training course "How to serve it cold 2.0" was a continuation of the training carried out by the Association of Dakato in September 2013, within the program Youth in Action, and concerned similar issues - the education of youth workers in the area of ​​intercultural competence and conflict resolution in an international environment. The objective of training is to consider the issues of communication and intercultural conflict through the prism of skills and attitudes necessary for activist organizations. Participants had the opportunity to analyse the skills needed in their work and choose a universal set of competencies necessary to resolve conflicts in a multicultural environment. Supporting tool has been created by the British National Agency Trainers Competence Framework model, which is used for a comprehensive assessment of intercultural competences and increases their recognition outside the youth sector. The project involved 27 people, with organizations from 9 countries (Cyprus, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Italy, the United Kingdom). The target participants were people active in environmental non-governmental organizations and similar institutions: youth leaders, volunteers and aspiring coaches who have already gained experience in international projects. A requirement was age 18 years and older and communicative English language level. Experience is an important factor for the content of the training, because their own accumulated observations and needs will be based on working within the framework of non-formal education methods. The training took place in Nawojowa Gora (on the outskirts of Krakow) on 31st of May - 7th of June 2015. During the training, participants took part in the activities of the three thematic blocks focused of group processes, intercultural communication and, above all, conflict management. At the end they created a set of necessary qualities and competencies, which was described in a publication released at the end of the project. There was also a film created, promoting specific methods of non-formal education. The methodology of the project was based on non-formal education methods, guaranteeing a variety of methods to stimulate work on individual and group level. In addition, the participants got acquainted with theoretical models of intercultural education and conflict management and worked on a model Trainer Competence Framework. The main result of the project was to provide participants with a range of skills and knowledge that will improve their work and activity in their organizations. Material training results publication and the movie are publicly available. The publication contains a broad topic kofliktu develop and present a set of competencies, analyzed and recognized by the participants necessary for a person working in an international environment. The film, beyond the manifestation of the course of training, presents some of the methods used non-formal education along with the comments of the participants and trainer. Both items are available online (on sites facebook, youtube and platform Erasmus + Project Results). Both elements are the participants and their organizations, and other persons interested in the subject of international work. The project has also brought long-term benefits - create new and strengthen existing networks that will be fruitful long-term cooperation. Competences acquired by participants raised their qualifications as activists in organizations, and aimed to improve the quality of projects implemented by them, but also to develop their interpersonal skills in the context of individual development.
