Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project „Broaden Horizons – Think International“ has originated in the need to lead the regional adult education colleges in Saxony –Anhalt towards globalizing their organizations and aims at raising their awareness for international cooperation. There are three target groups for that project. By participating in the project, in international learning experiences the members of these target groups will develop their personal, pedagogical, conceptual and intercultural competences and to transfer gained knowledge and competences into their own field of work. These target groups are: - Employees of administrative and conceptual levels in adult education - Full-time staff in adult education responsible for various departments- Fee-receiving teachers (free-lance) from various departments The selection of participants is done by the project team consisting of employees of the national association and its members. Decisive for the participation, among other things, the conformity of the learning objectives to the project objectives. The project is designed to take for 24 months and aims at sending 20 participants from the above mentioned target groups to European partner institutions in order to take part in the following activities:Teacher Training (In order to reach a self-determined learning goal through participation in a course)Job-Shadowing/sitting in on classes (In order to benefit from the experiences of the host institution through observation and exchange of experiences) Decision makers have a chance to benefit from the experience of international partners in areas such as construction, maintenance and use of a European network or conception of integration measures in comparison with other countries.Educational staff are given the opportunity to improve their teaching skills in the central topics of the project through experience abroad. With the help of learning agreements are for the participants to create clarity in their own objectives and possible areas for knowledge transfer in advance to be made aware. This is the targeted dealing with the anchored of themes and areas be ensured. Participants are encouraged to perform learning diaries or to use other suitable self-reflection opportunities. The respective partner organizations can be chosen by the applicants out of the European pool of their regional Adult Education Association (Landesverband) due to their own needs and demands. When choosing individually applicants will be informed in advance about important issues concerning the hosting institution such as matching of course content with the objectives of the project or individual objectives, duration of stay, etc.The exchange between countries with a long experience in integration allows to learn important facts about the specifically training materials, course concepts or quality management of integration courses and transfer these experiences in their own course design and in their methodical / didactic approaches. Our understanding is that the planned activities show a change of perspective in the short run and following from this a growing sensibility for various areas in adult education (e.g.: internationalization of institutions, conceptual optimization of training and course offers, inclusion and gender equality, cross-generational life-long learning, teaching and learning of foreign languages) as well as a strengthening of the participants’ abilities to deal with conflict due to their growing personal, social and intercultural competences.Medium-term the activities will lead to an improvement of international networking of the involved institutions (hosts and participants alike) and thus product results and experiences can be shared and exchanged more easily. In the long run we want to work on developing our adult education associations as well as the local adult education colleges into a well-established European network so that an enhanced realization of European teaching and learning objectives will be possible.
