There is growing trend around a world to promote social responsibility and ethical behaviour in business organisations. It is strongly connected with growing pressure on more fair trade relations between companies from Global North and Global South. There are a lot of initiatives that support this trends but they target almost only companies (mainly big corporations) at the same time relatively less initiatives are addressed to the rest of the business world (eg. small and medium enterprises /SMEs/). It is important to stress that most of owners and managers of SMEs are people without higher education background - they have usually the technical and vocational background rather than economics/management background. For example in Poland among entrepreneurs there are less than about 13% of people with higher education background (Gasparski W., 2008, Responsible Management Education). That is why the target group in this project are students at ISCED education levels 3 and 4 (secondary and post-secondary technical and vocational schools – age: 16 - 19).We plan to transfer a simulation and business game "Homoresponsabilis North South" elaborated by Belgian partner Groupe One. The tool utilizes an "active learning pedagogy" to educate future business leaders to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in their North-South relations, and sustainable development. This tool includes a game and some debriefings and has proven its qualities for three years in Belgium, and we want to increase its distribution in Europe in two ways:- adaptation of the tool in new EU countries (Bulgaria and Poland) and Austria, and training to its use for universities professors/teachers and/or trainers from non-profit organizations that deal with global and development education (indirect beneficiaries) ;- wider targeting other students in partner's countries (direct beneficiaries). The consortium consists of 4 organisations from 4 EU countries: Group One from Belgium (owner of the transferred tool), 2 organisations from new EU countries: University of Łódź, Faculty of Management (Poland), TIME-Ecoprojects Foundation (Bulgaria) and BEST (Austria). This is a kind of coalition of NGOs and private enterprise but lead by the university staff that is also strongly rooted in NGO sector in Poland.Outcomes of the project are: stronger promotion of global and development education in new EU countries; mobilize greater public support for establishing fairer relations between developed and developing countries; target young people, teachers and actors (trainers trained and new group of students targeted). In the longer term, companies will be the ones benefiting from the gains of this action, and of course, ultimately the people of the South will see their working conditions and development improved.
