Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project 2015/16 is just a step in the pathway to internationalization undertaken by our institution since 2008. During these years our institution acquired a relevant position among European higher education institutions in music by establishing a wide network of inter-institutional relations and by spreading the mobility within the academic context. Beside the rules of the Erasmus+ guide 2015/16 and of the National Agency, our mobilities comply the “Regulation for Erasmus mobility, international activities and relations” (published on the institutional web site), which ensures the acceptance of procedures that comply the ECHE principles and the rights of the mobility participants, by inserting these procedures in the academic context in proper time and ways, by stating a clear division of roles and responsibilities and by guaranteeing full transparency and effective communication. Our politics is to incentivize student mobility, to which we contribute by co-funding grants with ministerial and institutional funds, yearly allocated. This strategy works: this year one third of our outgoing students has decided to return abroad in order to continue studies, to undertake a second mobility or to work. The student mobility trend is constantly growing and this is also due to our clear procedure for credits recognition, which guarantees full recognition of the credits gained abroad, automatically made after mobility end. To traineeship students is guaranteed the recognition up to 30 credits, according to the length of the mobility and to the congruence of the activities carried out to the study course the student is enrolled in. Both for study and traineeship mobility, all credits are fully recognized in the amount of credits required to obtain the degree. If the student acquired abroad more than the credits required, the extra-credits will nevertheless recognized as additional activities and reported in the Diploma Supplement. The Diploma Supplement is released automatically and free of charge to every bachelor and master student at the end of his academic carrier. Furthermore the Diploma Supplement, for which our institution was awarded with a Quality Label in 2012, contains details about the mobility undertaken during the study course. Compared to 2014/15, in 2015/16 the outgoing mobility for traineeship raised of 80%; one third were post-diploma traineeships. Concerning incoming students mobility, our school has shown to be attractive for foreign students thanks to the professional teaching body (this year especially in singing, piano, chamber music and flute courses) and to an intensive work of integration fostered by the International Relations Office, that organizes every year the Welcome Day at the beginning of the academic year and the Erasmus Concerts, during which incoming students perform in public concerts together with internal students; this makes the integration process more easy and involving for students. We invested big efforts to let the Course Catalogue-ECTS package be available online, following the indications of the latest version of ECTS Guide. Now our new website is entirely translated in English and the layout allows an easy and intuitive access to all relevant information for incoming students. As regards staff mobility, we had a huge growth, both for teaching (increased of 70% compared to 2014/15) and training (4 units, compared to no mobilities in 2014/15). The incoming teachers flow also raised, enriching our didactic offer with several international masterclasses. Also this year the artistic production has played a central role in our project: beside the already mentioned Erasmus Concerts, we bring forward our Erasmus on Stage festival, in which our outgoing students participate at the end of their mobility. A part from these two main events, we also have organized concerts at the end of the international masterclasses. In musical studies artistic production is one of the main tools to increase the quality of the Erasmus experience both for students and teachers; concerts and all the preparation activities that precede are the most significant mean to enhance the cultural dialog and the didactic and artistic innovation.
