Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Internationalization is very important for University College of Social Sciences. Participation in the Erasmus+ programme is only one of the initiatives undertaken by the university to further develop our international relations. We are actively cooperating with various countries both within and outside of the EU. The primary aim of this project was to promote the mobility experience among students, graduates and our staff as well as spreading the idea of lifelong learning and strengthening our international relations. This year we had 16 participants. One student and one recent graduate participated in the traineeships in Spain. One student went to Porto in Portugal to study during the summer semester. The student participating in the SMS mobility passed all required exams, obtained the appropriate amount of ECTS credits and her results have been accepted and noted in her transcripts at UCSS. The mobility period of the student participating in SMP will be mentioned and acknowledged in her supplement which she will receive after graduation. The recent graduate obtained a certificate confirming the participation in the mobility. Every student got back happy with a lot of beautiful experiences and more confident about their own abilities. Moreover, 13 staff members participated in the project: 8 academic teachers and 5 administrative staff members. The academic staff members by conducting classes with foreign students have developed their methodological skills and gained a new perspective on teaching their subject matter. They also had a chance to meet people from a different cultural background which helped with their personal development through promoting tolerance and awareness of the cultural differences. They met professionals from their respective areas of expertise which will lead to fruitful and beneficial cooperation in the future. Our administrative staff members could participate in workshops and job shadowing activities which led to new ideas and solutions that they will incorporate at our university. All employees had an opportunity to share their thoughts and experience with their colleagues during weekly staff meetings. The STA and STT motilities strengthen our partnerships and vey often lead to the participation in international conferences like for example this year in Bulgaria. What is more, we hosted 4 students from partner universities, 3 from Portugal during the winter semester and one from Turkey during the summer semester. We realize that we are a small university located in a small town and therefore the number of participants of the project and its reach is relatively low. We do our best to promote Erasmus+ among our students and staff members through various posts on our website and social media accounts as well as mailing lists. As a means to disseminate the results and the impact of the project UCSS took active part in the first International Teachers Conference held in the Town Hall. The Head of International Office delivered a presentation on the influence of the participation in Erasmus+ mobility projects on the social and professional skills of future teachers. Every participant of the project, both incoming and outgoing, could count on the constant support of the International Office, which helps with the everyday issues as well as in emergencies. The mobilities have strengthened the international cooperation between WSL and its partner universities and contributed to promoting Poland as a country worth visiting. Moreover, partaking in the project promotes diversity and tolerance among all those involved in it, not only the participants, but also other students and teachers both at home and host institutions.
