Higher education student and staff mobility project

The Conservatory "Umberto Giordano" of Foggia goes on with its process of globalization, internationalisation and modernization of Higher Education in its field: artistic, musical, educational, investing in education and research through the European Programme Erasmusplus. Internationalisation is an essential part of the modernization of this Conservatory process, a chance to measure the effectiveness of its education system in relation to those of the partner institutions and at the same time to reflect on its skills as strengths to maintain and / or improve. The opportunities to compare, thanks to the mobility Erasmusplus, for study, teaching and training, were important chances for mutual growth helping to get stronger cultural program, educating to diversity, to sharing and to multiculturalism. The Conservatory protects the quality standards of its institution making periodic supervising of its courses of study and monitoring the quality of level of the licenses issued to ensure their importance in order to "train" more qualified figures in the artistic, musical and educational field.. For this purpose it have been improved international cooperation activities as well as with other public and private local institutions through partnerships and sponsorships with local authorities: City of Foggia, Province, neighboring municipalities and private companies (as sponsors) for the realization of artistic production and musical conventions. The Conservatory keeps on the agreements signed in the past with: - The University of Foggia for formal lecturing in some courses and in "E-Learning" for others; - The Language Centre of the University of Foggia to offer, free of charge, to students, teachers and non-teaching staff in output, foreign language courses and Italian language courses for foreigner incoming students; - Cerco alloggio Puglia II (Seeking Accommodation Puglia )(Cooperative Apulia Student Service Soc. Coop. Ri in collaboration with Agency for the Right to Education of the Puglia Region) that offers free service to support foreign students and off-site for the search of accommodation of high quality. - Schools of various types and grades of the province for educational internships. The Conservatory has a policy to improve and support mobility both incoming and outgoing, with the aim of increasing the number of participants and the quality trying to become, in the future, a magnet for foreign students and teachers. 'Erasmus Office gives information about the goals, perspectives, and how to participate in the mobility activities under the European Programme through meetings with students, teachers and staff. There are also used other channels to inform: website, Facebook and Twitter. It’s guaranteed equal opportunities to all participants regardless of their characteristics (racial or ethnic origin, color, sex, disability, age, sexuality, religious or political beliefs). For needy people it will be more economic aids. Participants are selected with the most transparency in accordance with the mobility applications. All the students of the Conservatory can participate, those enrolled in Bachelor and Master courses to perform a period of study or traineeship abroad, in one of the institutions with which it was decided to enter into a bilateral agreement, all the teachers and non-teaching staff, employed at the Conservatory, interested in an activity of mobility for education or training at an institution partner. Students, teachers and non-teaching staff of this Conservatory took part to the mobilities enthusiastically, promoting diversity and sharing the "right to know" through artistic and educational exchanges and worship that without losing their identity have helped to form an "international conscience". The results were excellent, in fact the Conservatory did 3 student mobilities (2 students enrolled in Bachelor course and n. 1 student enrolled in Master course ) n. 1 mobility for post-graduate traineeship, n. 4 mobility for staff (1 non-teaching personnel, 1 teaching staff to be trained and 2 teaching staff for Teaching Assignments). The Conservatory welcomed n. 1 student coming from 'Estonia to study and n. 1 teacher for teaching activities (teacher from Enterprice) from Amsterdam.
