PROJET
TERMINÉ
After a implementation period of the new Erasmus + procedures, we had a very good year in 2015. So, we noticed improvements in the following areas:
• An information campaign and preparation during the first quarter
• An increase in the number of mobilities
• Effective monitoring of beneficiaries throughout the mobility
As mentioned in the different reports, mobility is part of our School Project at St Félix-La Salle. One of the five areas of orientation of this project is the opening abroad and the cooperation with European partners. The technological and industrial courses struggle to develop openness abroad for two main reasons:
• The terms of work placements are difficult to perform abroad
• The lack of communication, of means and opportunities
The approach of the School is to give the chance to all students from technical and vocational education (B Tec and Baccalaureat & BTS) to perform mobility abroad. The main obstacle for students in BTS is to find companies that can host a student at least two months with an industrial project in relation to the training skills. For the work placements in B. Tec, the procedures are complex (18 weeks within two years) and difficult to cope with.
Despite these difficulties, the number of mobilities increases to 13 (9 students in International Trade, 2 students in Electrotechnology and 2 teachers) instead of 7 in 2014. Given that more than 30 other students in the service sector performed their 2nd year work placement abroad (outside Europe), we are very happy with this development.
Overall, these placements have enabled our students to increase their skill level, more for students in industrial BTS in which technological culture abroad is not the same as in France. For BTS in International Trade, this experience was a great asset to complement their business development curriculum.
For all students, the opportunity contributed to openness to other cultures, to live independently and confidently. This experience has given them the opportunity to study in a professional license, preferably abroad.
Regarding the mobility of teachers, who were involved in the educational exchange with the University THOMAS MORE KEMPEN in GEEL in Belgium, teachers were very satisfied with the teaching and practical method in addition to language learning.
In the same section we received a colleague HINS TESSA from THOMAS MORE, who was hosted for two days at the Campus St Félix-La Salle. Her involvement in English in front of our students and with teachers was very beneficial.
