Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

We are a specialized center in the Personal Image field. The two beneficiaries of the scholarship were students of higher level of Beauty therapy and wellness. Our Erasmus experience began in 2009 when we got the ECHE. It was complicated, but today we can say that we have established and strengthened links with companies. Last year we got an outstanding goal: the approval of our project intermediate and the consolidation of our higer education project, that concerns us here. For this project we had a partner host Blackburn College (UK) in which our students did their “FCT”. This mobility lasted 90 days. Two years earlier we had already had a first experience two months at the center. The good feelings of the students led us to apply for scholarships for 3 months, which was a success. Blackburn College is a center whose range extends from "pre-entry level programs" to master's degrees. It has numerous facilities that include: 1. Spa, 5 hair salons. 4 aesthetic cabins and a makeup studio. The objectives in undertaking this project were ambitious and were not limited to a better linguistic competence (objective also present and achieved as shown by the language tests). We also wanted that they might come a greater understanding of other cultures, personal enrichment, a greater sense of belonging to Europe, overcoming artificial geographical borders, increase personal autonomy and entrepreneurship. In this line, especially we looked achieve one of the main objectives of Europe 2020: employability. These objectives were met significantly, especially Andrea, who in September returned to UK and currently works there as an esthetician in a spa. Meanwhile, Judith Sanchez is also working (in Barcelona, possibly this experience helped her make the decision to move to Barcelona). As we advanced, the beneficiaries were two students: Andrea (22 years old at the time of mobility) and Judith (24 years). The interest of both was complete and even this year they have helped us prepare the medium degree mobility, also at Blackburn College. They were selected according to our criteria (academic results 35%, 30% level of English and personal interview which took into account the maturity and attitude 35%). They performed different type activities previously planned: - Customer service (in the aesthetic cabins) and reception (during the last few weeks, due to the improvement of their language skills, they were also attending the reception phone and taking appointments). - Teacher assistans. Blackburn College in aesthetic studies are divided into level 1, 2 and 3. Studies of our students amounted to a level 3, so they worked as assistant teachers in practices keeping materials and correcting and helping students in tasks including hair removal treatments, massages etc. - Participation in workshops and extra curricular activities. For example, in Blackburn they teach threading, a depilation technique rare in our country. The same happens with some massage techniques. Andrea and Judith participated in those lessons that helped them toincrease their training. In addition, they also went to the fair personal image of Birmingham. Regarding the results and impact, the students developed greater cultural background, improved language skills, greater openness towards other cultures and greater academic and professional background. In addition, autonomy and maturity were strengthened. As short / medium term employability highlighted. The good results of this experience also had an immediate impact on our center. Blackburn College agreed to continue working as host partner. In addition, this year has been the most candidates have had to be beneficiaries of grants, possibly by spreading our community manager made this experience through the social networks. Our center has also benefited from this experience: We learned more about implementation of the “dual FP” (very present at Blackburn College) and have incorporated some of their techniques, such as the model of client questionnaires. As long-term impacts on the students, are from future employment in the host country or elsewhere (in the case of Judith, as in Andrea has already been achieved) to continue investing in the Erasmus + program and its values as future teachers, entrepreneurs or mothers. Finally, note that the impact of our project added to the other participants could boost educational reforms.
