Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Over the academic years 2013/14 and 2014/15 the University of Exeter has made progress in raising the profile of Erasmus student and staff mobilities, making modest increases in 2014/15 by raising our total outbound participation in the programme from the projected 397 mobilities as outlined in our grant agreement to 403 mobilities as detailed in this report. We were delighted to send two members of staff on non-academic training opportunities this year, the first to University College Cork and the second to a staff training week at Lund University and the University of Amsterdam. The best practice demonstrated during these mobilities helped us to improve our processes and marketing and as a direct result we have seen an increase in inbound applications from 318 in 2014/15 to 405 in 2015/16. In line with the move to Erasmus+ and acting upon student feedback received during the 2014/15 project we have been reviewing our processes to ensure we maximise Erasmus participation. We have been expanding agreements with partner universities which teach in English as well as increasing the publicity of Erasmus work opportunities to provide a greater range of options to students not studying a modern language who would typically choose a placement in North America, Australia or New Zealand. As a result of this activity and increased marketing of Erasmus programmes we have seen mobilities rise from 403 2014/15 to an estimated 566 for 2015/16, a 40% increase. This directly relates to recommendation 3 of the Higher Education Modernisation Agenda: "Higher education institutions should encourage, welcome, and take account of student feedback which could detect problems in the teaching and learning environment early on and lead to faster, more effective improvements".
