Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Lund University has participated in Erasmus since the launch of the programme in Sweden. The programme provides a very good support to the work with internationalisation at Lund University, which is one of the top key priorities for the university. Two of the corner stones when it comes to internationalisation of the university is the mobility of students and staff, both incoming and outgoing. The financial support to individuals, as well as the framework surrounding Erasmus (e.g. partnership agreements, grant agreements, learning agreements, the Erasmus charter) is an important part in stimulating the mobility of students and staff within Europe, and to maintain a high quality in the implementation process. The number of outoging students and staff within the Erasmus programme continue to grow each year. When it comes to teacher and student exchange, where we have relatively high numbers going on exchange every year, the numbers have stabilized during the last couple of years. A tendency when it comes to staff mobility is that there is a higher demand to stay abroad for longer time periods as well. Also, we see that many of the applicants for staff mobility are new to the programme, which is a new and positive trend. For student placements and staff training we had applied for an increased number in this application. During the last couple of years, there has been a growing demand for student placements and we have increased the numbers almost every year during the 5 last years. With the possibility to include students who have finished their degree in the programme, we are reaching out to a new group of students. This will support the recent graduates in their aim to receive international experience in combination with work experience, and we believe that this will strenghten their employability. We have also seen an increased demand for staff training among the staff at Lund University. With the difficulty to increase the budget when there are low numbers of scholarship holders, in mind, we decided to use parts of the OS budget this year, in order to finance some of the staff in their training. We have undertaken specific acivities and advice to staff who are interested in going abroad, and thus been able to extend the number of scholarship holders considerably. Altogether, we consider this project to be very succesful in many ways. Not only have we increased the number of scholarship holders from Lund University, but we have also succesfully implemented the new tools which have been provided through the programme, and in general maintained a high quality througout the implementation of the programme.
