Joseph Pernock High School trains students so that they can become highly qualified technicians in two (2) different fields: Quality in food industry and water related professions. These students must be able to adapt to any type of company corresponding to their specialty, to communicate in French and in English if necessary with technicians, sales representatives or other. Their curious minds, their ability to take initiatives, in other words their professional efficiency can be regarded as criteria for success and professional integration. The seven (7) students whose selection was based on their motivation, their seriousness went to Malta for total immersion training inside companies for a period of two months. The first days of discovery allowed them to adapt to the Maltese accent and the organization of the structure. They were quickly given production, quality control as well as maintenance tasks. The intermediary body provided interactive English lessons to allow the students to improve their language training. Moreover, five high school staff members have been able to benefit from English lessons in three different English-speaking regions in the best possible condition. The other two staff members benefited from language training in accordance with their administrative task. Our school, which is located in the Caribbean, is surrounded by English-speaking countries: Saint Lucia, Dominica, Barbados, Saint Vincent and further away Porto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad and our big neighbor the USA. Our goal is to be part of this cordial geography which is undoubtedly the Future of Martinique, a branch of France in the world.
